A Brief History:

After working for 12 years at a large transportation consulting firm, founder and company president Sudhir Murthy started TrafInfo Communications, Inc. originally called Trafinfo.com (as were so many other companies started during the so-called “Dot Com” era) in 2000. Working initially from his basement, Sudhir was involved in several projects as a sub-consultant in his area of expertise in transportation modeling, traffic engineering studies and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Simultaneously, he developed the Trafmate™ product, an innovative Internet-based wireless telemetry system for application in traffic data collection at continuous count stations for which he holds a patent. The company has since grown in size while maintaining the uniqueness of two distinct business areas – transportation consulting and wireless communication.
